Clover John Innes No.1 Compost is a fine-textured, loam-based compost specially developed for seed sowing, rooting cuttings, and nurturing young seedlings. It features a carefully balanced blend of sterilised loam, peat, and horticultural grit, enriched with a low level of nutrients to avoid scorching tender roots during the most delicate growth stages.

This 25L bag is perfect for sowing trays, pots, propagation stations, and plug plants. Whether you're starting vegetables, flowers, herbs, or ornamentals, Clover John Innes No.1 provides the perfect foundation for strong, uniform germination.

How To Use

  • Use Clover John Innes no.1 Compost straight from the bag. Ensure all containers, trays or pots are clean and sterile prior to use. Fill tray, pot or container with Clover John Innes No.1 Compost to just below the rim and tap gently until surface is level. Pick out or pot on yuoung seedlings or mature plants, taking care not to damage fragile roots and stems.
  • Water carefully with a fine rose or sprayer.
  • Do not over water. The compost should be moist but not saturated.
  • Begin supplement feeding after 3-4 weeks using one of the specialist fertilisers from the clover range.
  • If further potting on is required, select one of the composts from the Clover range to suit your plants specific requirements.
  • Store in dry conditions away from direct sunlight.
