Description

ICL have added Ostara's Pearl® Technology to their premium controlled-release Sierrablen Plus fertilizers and it is providing significantly increased rooting and more efficient nutrient use over traditional ammonium-phosphate sources. With Pearl Technology they have eliminated the risk of phosphorus leaching into the environment or it irreversibly locking onto soil particles: Pearl only releases in response to organic acids produced by the roots and therefore will be taken up as per the plants requirement.

Help your turf better establish itself with the help of Sierrablen Plus Turf Starter with Pearl Technology. Boost soil establishment and overall growth thanks to this high-phosphorus formula, designed to help your turf establish stronger, more nutrient-efficient roots.

Sierrablen Plus Turf Starter includes Pearl® Technology, a unique Root Activated continuous-release phosphorus recovered from phosphorus-rich water streams. This high phosphorus analysis with proven performance for sod growers, is designed for laying sod and for adding to renovations where maximum rooting is the aim. It is preferable to use this product alongside applications of additional nitrogen to encourage turf growth.

  • Controlled-release Poly-S nitrogen for strong turf response and 3+ month longevity
  • Root-activated, slow-release phosphorus, nitrogen and magnesium resulting in increased rooting
  • Contains Polyhalite with K, CaO and MgO
  • Circular nutrients N, P and MgO recovered from phosphorus-rich water streams.
  • Earlier harvest time when used for turf production

Area of use

  • Turf production
  • Turf laying
  • Stadium pitches
  • Sports fields
  • Tees

How to use

  • Renovation: Use a spreader to apply the fertiliser shortly after scarifying to allow the granules to disperse within the sward.
  • Sodding: Once the soil has been prepared, apply the fertiliser evenly prior to sodding. The roots of the sod should be in contact with the granules.
  • Seeding and over-seeding: Seeding – Use a spreader to apply the fertiliser and work it into the top 3 cm of soil prior to seeding.
  • Over-Seeding – Use a spreader to apply the fertiliser once the soil has been opened up, before reseeding later.

Clover Multi-Purpose Compost is a peat-based growing medium for all plants. It is suitable for seed sowing, potting-on, containers, hanging baskets, tubs, vegetables, and bedding plants. It’s one of the most versatile composts for both home and professional gardeners.

Yes, Clover Multi-Purpose is an all-purpose compost designed for almost every type of plant. However, for lime-hating plants such as rhododendrons, camellias, and azaleas, we recommend using an ericaceous compost for best results.

Clover Multi-Purpose is peat-based, giving it superior water-holding capacity, root aeration, and consistent performance. Many gardeners prefer it over peat-free options for reliability, though we also stock peat-free alternatives if you want an eco-friendly choice.

Yes, this compost is enriched with nutrients to feed plants for up to 4–6 weeks after planting. For longer-term growth, simply add a liquid or granular fertiliser once the initial feed runs out.

Absolutely. The fine, consistent texture makes it excellent for seed germination and young seedlings. Just follow your seed packet instructions for sowing depth and watering.

Yes. This compost has excellent moisture retention and drainage, making it one of the best composts for hanging baskets, patio tubs, and containers. It helps prevent plants from drying out too quickly, especially in warm weather.

No, it is not certified organic as it contains peat and added fertiliser. If you’re looking for an organic compost, we can recommend suitable peat-free alternatives.
